Julie Schenecker says she doesn’t regret killing son Beau and daughter Calyx.

JULIE Schenecker shot dead her son, 13, and Calyx, 16. But she has revealed that she would do it again, claiming “I saved them”. The 54-year-old was convicted in May last year of shooting her son Beau and daughter Calyx in their Florida home while her husband Parker, a US Army colonel served overseas.
She would do it again ... Julie Schenecker, 54, says she has no regrets about hilling her kids.
Schenecker shot her son in their car while he was tying his shoelace and then went into her daughter’s bedroom where she was studying and shot her as well. In an interview with US ABC she says she had no idea when she woke up in the morning that she was going to kill her children and that the idea only came to her just before she pulled the trigger.

Asked if she regretted killing them she shook her head.

“No. I saved them,” she said.

Schenecker claims that Beau was being sexually abused by someone she refuses to name, while Calyx had told her she was suffering from mental illness.

“I was raped as a virgin and my whole life has been a mess. I came from a great family. They protected me. And this still happened. I couldn’t let it happen to Calyx,” Schenecker told ABC.

But her journal, which was tendered into evidence in court, details plans to kill both kids in the lead up to their deaths because they were being “mouthy”.

“I offed Beau on the way to practice,” she wrote. “I accidentally shot the window then shot him. One in the side of the head and one in his mouth because he became so mouthy just like Calyx.”

“Shot the two mouthy mouths in the mouth after shooting them in the head,” she wrote.

All six mental health experts who testified at her trial last year said Schenecker was mentally ill, but three experts called by the prosecution said she was legally sane when she shot her children.

The jury rejected her insanity plea and she was sentenced to life without parole.

Her husband of 20 years, Parker Schenecker, who divorced her a few months after the killings, said there was never any indication she would hurt the children.
