Don’t EXPOSE people’s buttocks says Cde Chinotimba.

Zanu-PF Buhera South legislator Cde Joseph Chinotimba has said second-hand clothes should not be banned because that will force people to put on skin loins and expose their buttocks.

He said this while seconding a motion by another parliamentarian not to ban second-hand clothes.

“There are institutions like the City of Harare where workers have gone for four months without pay and it becomes difficult for a man or a woman to go into a shop and buy new clothes. It would be better for them to buy second-hand clothes because they would cover their poverty by wearing those second-hand clothes.
Don’t EXPOSE people’s buttocks says Cde Chinotimba.
“If they do not work, they will put on loin skins as was the case with our ancestors and they would be exposing their buttocks.”

The proposed ban on the importation of second- hand clothing and shoes has drawn the ire of the legislators who feel the proposed move is too harsh on the less privileged who cannot afford expensive clothing.

The parliamentarians have demanded that Finance and Economic Development Minister Patrick Chinamasa reverse the proposal which is captured in last week’s fiscal policy review statement.
