Kanye West: 'I Have Decided In 2020 To Run For President'

Donald Trump is not alone in his ambition to be President of The United States. Kanye West surprised the gathering at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night by declaring his aspirations to run for president in 2020 in a long, disjointed and, at times, all over the place acceptance speech.

In a move that would make Kim Kardashian first lady and Kris and Caitlyn Jenner White House babysitters to North West, the music and fashion mogul fit in his political ambitions into his nearly 13-minute speech acceptance speech for the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, a sort-of lifetime achievement award.

"I have decided in 2020 to run for president," West said at the end of his rambling remarks, bringing cheers from the MTV crowd in attendance.

Host Miley Cyrus then showed support for West and current Republican presidential front runner Donald Trump after the rapper's speech.

"You got to bring politics to this kind of show," Cyrus said. "Trump, you had my vote. But now, Kanye West for president!"

West may have gotten the political bug earlier this month at a Los Angeles fundraiser for Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton where he and his wife managed to squeeze in a selfie while the GOP candidates sparred with each other in their first debate in Cleveland, according to The Hill.
